Is Breast Augmentation Covered by OHIP?

Breast augmentation is not covered by OHIP when done for aesthetic purposes. Dr. Backstein, a Toronto breast augmentation specialist also performs breast implant surgery for breast reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer and for cases of extreme congenital disorders of breast development. In these cases the breast implant surgery will be covered by OHIP.
